Fallow Deer Block

Te Henga Hunting Homestay - Central North Island, N Z

If you are after a more luxurious stay in the Moawhango Valley 15mins from Taihape town (Fallow Deer Block) 30min drive to Elk Hunting at Ngatarua 1hour drive to Red Stag Hunting at Cryon the Batley Homestead is for you.

Built at the turn of last century this has been the home to the Batley family through the generations and one of the oldest homestead?s in the district.

In the 1880?s one of New Zealand?s early Prime Minister?s stayed at the homestead, but this is the first time outside (or paying?) guests have been invited to enjoy the elegant house set on beautiful grounds and surrounded by history.

With artwork dating back to the 1700?s adjourning the walls and much of the original English furniture beautifully preserved this is an exclusive opportunity to experience a taste of colonial New Zealand with a touch of modern luxury.

Open fires roar throughout the expansive house and with four bedrooms, a drawing room and dining room / library, there is plenty of room to relax in style, with all the modern comforts non-hunters might require.

Note ? this is an extra cost on top of the daily rate POA.
