Built at the turn of last century this has been the home to the Batley family through the generations and one of the oldest homestead’s in the district.
In the 1880’s one of New Zealand’s early Prime Minister’s stayed at the homestead, but this is the first time outside guests have been invited to enjoy the elegant house set on beautiful grounds and surrounded by history.
With artwork dating back to the 1700’s adjourning the walls and much of the original English furniture beautifully preserved this is an exclusive opportunity to experience a taste of colonial New Zealand with a touch of modern luxury.
Open fires roar throughout the expansive house and with four bedrooms, a drawing room and dining room / library, there is plenty of room to relax in style, with all the modern comforts non-hunters might require.

John and Robin Batley are the proud owners of Te Henga Hunting and all the properties which the hunting takes place on. In conjunction with free range hunting they also run full farming operations which include sheep, cattle and deer.
Head guide Jimmy Barrett and wife Ariana Barrett are working alongside John and Robin to offer a hunting experience detailed to your needs. Jimmy an avid hunter and outdoorsman himself holds these animals with the utmost respect.
